Family (What Family Means to Me)

Family, thats a big word, it can mean several people, or just a few people, a group of friends, a group of co-workers, a group of people on online communities, etc. but the fact remains we all some how some way become and make up Families.
Now I want to tell you what Family means to me. A family is when you hurt everyone hurts, and when you need a shoulder to cry on their there for you. If you are in need, Family comes to your rescue providing you love, comfort, food, a place to stay. When you suffer loss of someone in your lives, family is there to comfort you. When you are hungry, they bring you food, they help you out til you get back on your feet. If you someone how lose your place they move you in to help you get back out into your own place. Family sticks together no matter what. That is what Families do. Families are unconditional. Family keeps on loving you no matter what you do or have said. Family forgives you even when you don't think you deserve it. As we grow up and our families expand and get bigger, as long as we instill this kind of thinking into our families, we will never fail, we will never do without, and we will always be able to succeed, because we have the love and support of our families to back us up through thick and thin, through good times and hard times. So if you are not part of a family, you can always start by doing these things with the people you are close to and create this kind of family in your life and so this kind of family life will thrive in your lives. Family is what and who you make it. We all have different kinds of family groups and the traditional ones too. But whoever you are and whoever you are with well, thats your family. Instill these values here I have shared with you all and take them to heart. Because if we don't have family we don't have anything. This year I will be celebrating Thanksgiving with my family, we have all grown up over the years and have families of our own, but as long as Mom and Dad are still here, we all meet over at their house out of respect of the fact that they are parents, even though we are parents and grandparents ourselves. My Mom and Dad are the most wonderful parents, they have taught us so much about life and have taught us some good moral values and most of all how to love each other unconditionally. We are all there for each other because that is how Mom and Dad taught us to be. Yes, we are all very independent people and have our own jobs in life. But when we get together it is so wonderful. You know have you ever heard of the movie IT's A Wonderful Life. Well, thats how Our Family feels everyday, and on the Holidays! We love each other so much, yes we have our ups and downs and losses but we still are a great strong and firm foundation of a Family. If you ever get the chance go to the video stores and ask for a documentary called Hands On a Hard Body, my Dad won this contest back in the early 90's and He is a wonderful father, husband to my Mom, and a great friend to many. He has mentored so many people. And made so many friends in his lifetime. He is a great example of what a Father truly represents. My Dad is 67 years old and he just had his birthday on Nov. 13th, 2009. He stood 78 hours with his hands on a little blue truck with yellow hands painted all over it. He was the oldest contestant in that contest. He will tell you how he won it, and his reply is, IF YOU WANT SOMETHING BAD ENOUGH YOU HAVE TO KEEP YOUR HANDS ON IT ! And thats exactly what He did that day, He won that Nizzan Truck and He won it to prove to Mother how much He loves Her, He won it for Her. Now thats love people true love in the making. So when we all get together for the Holidays its a true Home Coming every year, We just love it when the Holidays come, because thats when we all get to spend quality time together as a Family and see each other and catch up and play with the little ones. I am having a tear time in my heart just writing about my Family. I am so Thankful I have them. You will never ever know how much I love them, they are my Family. My real name is Virginia and this is my story and what Family means to me, Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

When I think about giving thanks, in regard to television, how can I help but think of my favorite show, "I Love Lucy.?" Along with many others, I certainly will be thankful if Lucy comes back to Hallmark. The show is such a part of Americana that there is a real void, if "I Love Lucy" is not with us on Thanksgiving.

I was browsing yesterday for anything about The Walton's and ran across TV.com. It is CBS. I was reading that they used to run the Walton's about 20 years ago. There was one guy that wrote, "The Walton's coming to TVLand in August 2010." I wrote him back asking if he had some inside information or was he just guessing. That there are alot of Walton fans still out there wanting to know if they are ever going to be shown again anywhere. I have not heard back yet, but will keep checking daily on it. I also asked if they had a request page for other Walton fan's to go to to possibly put in a request for them. I told them that The Walton's still have a huge fan base and would watch ANY channel just to see them on somewhere. I went to tv.com and then forums, at the top right hand corner there is a search bar. I typed in The Walton's and read what they had on them. I will let you know if they come back with a request page or something.

Hello to all my friends out there on Hallmark Channel. It seems as if I am neglecting all of you, but I promise I am just busy. My final exams went well. Last week I started 2 new classes. So those are taking up most of my time. My foot is doing well. I went last week to the drs and that open wound is offically closed. I am hopeing that tomorrow my stitches can come out. So please everyone hope & pray that they come out. After this I will be ready for the reconstruction on my ankle. Looks like there is finally an end in sight. As far as myself, Im okay. Been kind of depressed the last 2 days. Its a long story, I will give you a brief discription. I was seeing a guy.. well online, but I truely fell in love with him. As with most online relastionships we grew apart. And in the end he not only broke up with me, but he broke my heart. We are trying to do the friend thing, but it seems as if lately all we do is fight. So Im not sure how well our "friendship" is going to work out. Part of me wants to just let him go all together, but then theres that other part that just wants nothing more for us to go back to the way things were. But I know thats not possible. This past weekend Ive seen a side of him I dont like. The side that is cruel & un caring. Can you believe hes saying that Im making him out to be "monster", which I never said. Anyways, I suppose eventually I will get over this. For now all I can do is nothing. If anyone has advice about this please tell me. Hope u are all well. Hope to be back here in a few days.

I too wonder why they don't start with the original movie when they show the series. They called November 8th the Love Saga but they show the original the night before and then show the others out of order. I don't understand. The movies are wonderful (not as good as the books) why ruin them by showing them all mixed up?!?

An update on my Mom

I wanted to thank everyone who might have read my last blog and thought of my mother in their prayers. I also wanted to add an update. The outlook for my mom is a lot more optimistic than it looked last night. They reran the test today and the lab nurse or what ever her job title is said that the suspicious cells are probably not cancerous as they thought possible last night. They believe the problem is an inflammation due to severe or accute gastritis (sp?) and much easier to treat than cancer. My mother was released from the hospital and is resting right now. They don't have the final results as of yet, but her doctor is optomistic about the outcome.

The wisecracks of the characters still appy although the present war situation is a special kind of ugly. Also, welcome back Murder She Wrote albeit in a different time spot. Kinda liked it late night. Also, where're Perry Mason and Matlock? Love the Hallmark Channel!

I Loved the first one and don't understand why they have chosen the past three times to not start with it. I guess it's just another Hallmark way of doing things!!!!

Please pray for my Mom

Please pray for my mom. She's been having dizzy spells, a loss of appetite, and weight loss problems. They've run all kinds of blood tests on her and they have done all kinds of procedures on her and were coming up with nothing wrong with her, except to change her blood pressure medicine. The change seemed to help with the dizzy spells, but today they had an endoscopic procedure done. My oldest sister took her to have the procedure done, and I stayed at home thinking she would be home in a few hours. Something went wrong during the procedure and there was some internal bleeding. The endoscopic test revealed some possible cancerous region in her stomach. They did a biopsy, but the pathololgist won't know anything until tomorrow. She is being kept overnight for observation.
What kills me is knowing that while my mother was having the procedure done, I stupidly went for a walk. I just figured that they would allow her to wake up before sending her home. I can't believe I went for a walk. I should have gone with my sister and mom or stayed here where I would have the phone ring.
Please, please pray for my mom.

Bring Back 7th Heaven & Touche

I am protesting too. Please bring back Touched by an Angel and 7th Heaven as it was before. Hallmark used to be one of my favorite channels but since they removed 7th Heaven and moved the times of Touched by an Angel I never watch this channel anymore. I am disabled and home all day. I enjoyed watching 7th heaven from 1 - 3 PM PST and Touched by an Angel from 11 - 1 PM PST daily. I also enjoyed Little House on the Prarie in the morning 8 0r 9 AM PST and late afternoon 3 - 5 PM PST. after initialing removing Touched by an Angel and 7th Heaven I have stopped watching the Hallmark Channel. Even though you have returned Touched by an Angel I was not able to see it until you brought that back to 1 show at noon. Please return these shows and to their initial hours of 11-1 PM PST for Touched by an Angel and 1 - 3 PM PST 7th Heaven. Please please please it would be great if you can return these shows. in particular 7th Heaven. I will continue to refuse to watch these channels until you return them back!!!!! Please return the show 7th Heaven!!!!!!!!!!!! Please return 7th Heaven !!!!!!!!!
