I am 58 years old and live in Hohenwald, Tennessee. I am a Viet Nam Era Veteran of the United States Navy and have served as a Captain and Company Commander for the 203rd Infantry Battalion of the Tennessee Army Defense Force, which is now called the Tennessee State Guard. I was commended by the Editor of the Leatherneck Magazine (the official magazine of the United States Marine Corps) in the September 1981 edition for writing 19 songs that were mass produced by Colonel Joseph Holmes of Parris Island Recruit Training Depot and were used to entertain marines at Christmas time. I still have the beautiful red USMC windbreaker that Col. Holmes gave to me. I was also given special recognition by the late Jack Webb, who co-starred in the movie " The D.I.". In addition, to starring on the TV series "Dragnet", Mr. Webb was well known for being a "marine buff" and he liked my songs. Tragically, he died of a heart attack before I could accept his invitation to visit him at his home. I am also a Past Commander and Past Service Officer of American Legion Post 127 in Hohenwald, Tennessee. I am a member of the Lewis County Historical Society and serve as Director in the Meriwether Lewis Chapter of the Lewis and Clark Trail Heritage Foundation. I am a reenactor of Meriwether Lewis in two periods of his life. Those are the periods when he was an Infantry Captain in the United States Army and afterwards was appointed Governor of the Louisiana Territory by President Thomas Jefferson. I enjoy horseback riding, cooking and trying new recipes and playing classical guitar and Beatle music. I proudly classify myself as a patriot of America, supporter of the Union and would not hesitate to wear the colors of America and defend our nation again. God Bless America! Remember the Alamo and the Maine!
