    LOLOLOL I love that

  • Thought for the day..

I have found inner peace; here's how you can, too.
I read an article that said the way to achieve inner peace is to finish everything you start. Today I finished two bags of potato chips, a chocolate pie, a bottle of wine and a small box of chocolate candy.
    I feel better already

Now THAT'S how to achieve inner peace!  Smile

THAT'S how I achieved my big fat arse!!!

  • Re: Thought for the Day

Women store fat differently than men, and when they are older(like most of us chatting now) the metabolism slows to a crawl, no matter how active you are. It seems to me I can eat plain chicken breast and salad, with little or NO salad dressing, forever and nothing changes, so why not enjoy the good stuff??  That is my story and I'm sticking to it!

Waltonfan, those are funny posts.  I like it.  "That's my story and I'm sticking to it."  I know what you mean.  If I eat carrot sticks and can't budge a pound off no matter how much I exercise, then I might as well go for the whole nine yards, lol!Cool

It's not who you are that holds you back, it's who you think you aren't.

My fantasy is having two men at once....one cooking and one cleaning!  Wink

  • Re: Thought for the Day

Lori - Even though I do the cleaning, I do have a husband who does the cooking. I cooked for years but he always has loved cooking so took it over when he retired and I was still working. Once I retired, he still wanted to do it so who am I to say no!?!  He is a fantastic baker (makes everything from scratch) who makes all kinds of wonderful homemade breads, pies, cookies etc. I do cook when all the kids come home if they want something special I made while they were growing up and on holidays. We always make holiday cookies together. My friends all envy me!!

I envy you too.  My husband's parents are straight off the boat from Italy, so he never had to lift a finger and even though I've been trying to convince him for 25 years that it doesn't work that way here, he refuses to budge.

Sounds like you have a keeper!!!

  • Re: Thought for the Day

You know, Lori, my husband learned to cook and bake when he was a very young boy so it comes very natural to him. Due to childhood illness, he missed a lot of school and that is when his mom taught him to cook.  He came from an Irish catholic family of 15 children so there was lots of need for any one of them to learn to cook!! Regardless, I am very lucky since I don't enjoy cooking as much as I used to. He even cleans up behind himself!! LOL!
