  • Stop Catherine Hicks -- Horror is not Family Programming worthy of Hallmark

    Dear Hallmark,

Catherine Hicks has returned to appearing in horror movies.  In the past she played a witch in Witches & Sorceresses.  Even more horrifying, She played the mother in Child's Play, about a serial killer and demonic possession of a child's dolls.

Lately, she has returned to horror, in "Stranger with My Face" (rumored), as well as other films.

I always thought there was something creepy with the character Annie.  Lately my family had been getting nightmares from watching 7th Heaven reruns.  We only watched a few episodes but had the most horrifying nightmares.

She is sending out something subconscious in her onscreen work.  The character Annie may be a ministers wife, but the actress Catherine Hicks is a mercenary - selling her own soul, and endangering the sensibilities of her viewers, just to make money.

Please cease showing her program 4 times a day.  It is not safe for young viewers, or even older viewers like us who have avoided viewing horror our entire lives.

Perhaps you can bring back Little House or the Waltons.  Children don't mind reruns.  Noah's Ark was another fine program.  Family and Eight is Enough were fine.  These programs were timeless.  There are many affordable alternatives to poisoning the hearts of viewers with sublimated, arguably godless, horror.

In general we love the Hallmark Channel and hate to have to boycott her programming.

Her is an image from Catherine Hicks' work "Child's Play"

Catherine Hicks considers this "Child's Play"?

    Our community is horrified.

  • I Hope Hallmark does bring back "Little House".

I do hope Hallmark does bring back the wholesome family entertainment of "Little House". I used to turn Hallmark on all the time when I got off of school to watch "Little House". Now that "Little House" is gone from Hallmark I don't even turn it on anymore. I either watch my "Little House" dvd's or watch it on youtube.

WHAAAAATTTTT are you talking about!?  Did I read this right?  She is sending subconscious messages through the TV screen?Undecided

She is referring to subliminal messages.  No one in my family ever had any nightmares or felt the need to devil worship after viewing 7th Heaven.  It is a show that simply deals with issues raising children and teenagers.  There is nothing 'evil' about it.

HAHAHA is anyone laughing about this like me?  I love Catherine Hicks, she was Faith on Ryans Hope.  If she's sending subliminal messages, then i better get one that tells me what lottery numbers to play.

lol....if I thought she could be a witch I know a few people I'd have her put a spell on!!!!  Bubbles, bubbles, toil and troubles...

  • It's not the Blair Witch

It's not the Blair Witch!  It's a poltergeist!  No!  She's possessed!  Watch out for the split pea soup and the head spinning!  LOLSurprised

Yeah I agree that someone doesn't send subliminal messages through their works they do. My other comment which is posted under my other name littlehousefan01 was just wishing for wholesome  family shows like my favorite show ever "Little House" to come back to Hallmark.

Well this begs the question ... are you a child? If not, then let the children speak for themselves. Wink

And FYI, Hallmark Channel's aim is at baby boomers NOT children.

  • Is anyone else having "Annie Camden Nightmares"?

    Greetings!

I am so sorry that you and your family are having nightmares.  I have always admired Catherine Hicks' work as an actress.

In actual life, she is a devout Catholic who has has stated in interviews that she prays the Rosary on a daily basis.

We are all entitled to our personal opinions.  I really enjoy the work that she has done as an actress and will continue to do so!

Once again, I'm truly sorry about the nightmares that you and your family are having.  Good Luck on your crusade!

PS: I'm genuinely curious~ has anyone else on this forum experienced nightmares after watching 7th Heaven or anything Catherine Hicks works in?

  • Re: Stop Catherine Hicks -- Horror is not Family Programming worthy of Hallmark

I love watching 7th Heaven and I have never had nightmares or heard of any such stuff. Years ago I actually watched the movie Child's Play and I didn't realize she was in it until I started watching it. I had to idea but it was interesting to see her in a different role because I have only seen her in 7th Heaven. I just think that this is very interesting and strange at the same time. But anyways, I don't plan to stop watching 7th Heaven.

What part did she play in Child's Play?  I man unless she was Chuckie himself, I can't figure why she would be the one people had nightmares about!  Albeit, my son has night terrors and it's no fun, for him or anyone else in the house.  So I sympathize if anyone has nightmares that are that botherosome.

  • Re: Stop Catherine Hicks -- Horror is not Family Programming worthy of Hallmark

I honestly think someone forgot to take their medication.(and I am not being sarcastic).  Sad that they are letting a movie, or TV rule their life in a such a negative way.  I hope they can start to occupy their time thinking about something else. There are many things they can watch or buy that are wholesome.  Best Buy or Amazon.com would be a good place to start.  Neither I, my family members or friends ever had nightmares after watching 7th Heaven.

  • Re: Stop Catherine Hicks--

I just read this entire thread for the first time today. I must say it all seems a bit unbelievable. Either someone has totally lost it or they are in need of some serious help. The thought of subliminal messages being transmitted through a TV set is a bit hard to digest! I find Catherine Hicks to be a good actress (no matter whom she portarys) and 7th Heaven is just a contemporary show of family life.

Catherine Hicks played the mom to the little boy who owned the Chucky doll.

Seriously, whoever you are, 7th Heaven is not a bad show, it is a very good show. I also think Catherine Hicks is a great actress and a good person. It is also impossible to send subliminal messages through a t.v. screen. If you are having nightmares it is not from 7th Heaven. Maybe you just had some bad pork. LOLLaughing

  • WHAT!?

Have you been smoking a little 'wacky weed' before watching 7th Heaven, or what? It is a wholesome show, and MY question would be THIS!? How in the WORLD would the kids having the 'nightmares' even know she was IN the horror movies to HAVE the nightmares from watching her on 7th Heaven? Did they reconize her FROM the horror movies? Are you SERIOUS? SUBLIMINAL MESSEGES FROM THE TV? Me thinks your butter has slipped off your toast! I like 7th Heaven, but would MUCH rather watch the 'Waltons' from sun up to sun down than this show. I like it, like I said..but MISS MY WALTONS! And I feel like Hallmark just does not care. :(...............will watch LHOTP now that it is back, and THAT IS IT!
