Vacation

Hey everyone!! It's been a really long time since I've been on here. It seems like forever. I went on vacation last week to North Myrtle Beach South Carolina. I haven't been to the beach in 12 years so I was really looking foward to it. It was the fist time I've ever stayed in a house with 14 othe family memebers. Needless to say, it was an experience. LOL! We rented a house for the week and it was right across the road from a public beach access walkway that didn't have any parking, which was good. I have tons and tons of pictures that I took. The only problem that I have is that on here I can only upload 5 at a time and when I uploded them on Myspace and Facebook there were at least 4 folders with 200 pictures in them. We went to Ripley's Aquarium, which I had never been before, and I loved it and then we went to the Ripley's Haunted Adventure which was a blast. I also went and toured the Battleship USS N.C. Memorial in Wilmington, NC. Never been there before and I absolutely loved it. I will definately try and go back there some time. Most of my time was spent on the beach. There was only one day I didn't go because I had gotten sunburned the day before (that's when I went to the battleship with my family). I hated to leave but it was time to come back and get my puppies. We left them with a friend of the family and I missed Sampson and Emma so bad. They were so so happy to see us when we got back. It was nice to be with them again.

The worst part of the trip was when we came back on Saturday. It took almost 9 hours to get back. About 2 hours longer than it should have. We had to make a bunch of stops and when we stopped for lunch at a Wendy's at a truck stop it was crazy. I have never been to a fast food restaurant where I waited 20 to 30 minutes to give my order. It was crazy and extremely packed. I pray I never have to go through that again. LOL! Then we had to get off the interstate above Mt. Airy North Carolina and go up the mountain because I-77 was backed up and standing still where everyone was trying to merge onto I-81 at Wytheville, VA. I know this because my uncle and my cousin's husband was stuck in the traffic and couldn't get off and then my aunt and cousin was able to get off at Hillsville, VA. Needless to say I got a lot of my book read that day. Then on Sunday we all slept like all day trying to recover. LOL!

Now I have to jump in full force and try to find a job. I've got to go back to school in about 1 month so I need to try and find something. But with the area I live in, it's almost impossible. At least I've been able to pass the time during the day by having a JAG marathon with the DVR. I'm loving that right now. Then yesterday I realized that my birthday is this Saturday. I didn't even know it or think anything about it. I reckon because it's not a "milestone" birthday. I'll be 22 but I am looking forward to it. For some reason I always look forward to my birthday's even though much doesn't go on during it.

But anyways, just wanted to let everyone know that I'm still hanging around here and I haven't disappeard. LOL!

Take care all!!

  • Twilight, yes I did have a fun time. I had never been to anything Ripley's related so I was a fun adventure for me and my family. I was sad to leave.

  • It sounds like you had fun! The Ripley's Haunted Adventure sounds pretty neat and so did the aquarium. I am glad you had fun, except for on your way back. It was good to hear about you're trip and welcome back.

  • My2Cents, Ripley's haunted adventure is like a haunted house. It was a small 2 story building and it was pitch black 95% of the time. It was fun though and I'd like to go back to it sometime when I go back to the beach.

  • Annabelle, the whole Wendy's ordeal was crazy. I was so surprised when I went in there and saw the line and then had to wait forever to give my order and while we ate the line was long the whole time. I normally love ridding on the back roads but this was one time it was too much. LOL! Sorry you're not able to go on a vacation this summer. It's always nice to get away from home but then it's always nice to get back home.

SR52, it was wonderful to get to go to the beach. Hopefully you'll get to go to the beach sometime soon.
